My Lego World (Entry #1)

I'd say we all have multiple hobbies of our own. Some that we rarely do, others that we do all the time, or a few that are just sort of there. My most favorite hobby is building legos! It sounds childish yes, but to me it is quite the entertaining thing. In general, I really enjoy building things which is where I get the hobby from.

I often get asked to help build small stuff like furniture or simple household things. It's a very accomplishing feeling once I get the work done. I like the focus and attention to detail that it takes when it comes to building all sorts of things. Legos bring that sense of accomplishment every time. I have seen it to be a common thing among people my age, as well as children of course. The much larger sets are the ones worth building. They require more time and patience but eventually turn out very neat. Some day I hope to build the piano set! I find this hobby to be very soothing indeed. I sit down and listen to my music while I do something that I think is fun, but is also feeding my brain. If there is ever a time that I get stuck on one of the steps in the manual, it requires me to use my problem solving in order to figure it out on my own. It's a good skill to have down and I realized that building stuff is going to be a lifelong skill that we need to obtain sooner than later. Maybe it's just me, but I love being organized and following manuals or instructions instead of doing it "my own way" while having a fifty percent chance that it may or may not come out completely wrong. Lego building is super enjoyable with a friend. Earlier this year, my friend and I went shopping for small sets to do at the park. It was nice having a conversation while sitting there and assembling an animal out of lego bricks!

I would love to keep this as one of my hobbies for as long as I can! It gives me a nostalgic feeling and it is definitely comforting. My hobby may not be everybody's favorite, but hopefully those who enjoy building things, following directions, and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment- will add this to their list.

Stay tuned,

  1. I love legos! I never understood when people say that Legos are for kids. Legos are for everyone no matter how old you are. It's so cool to see that there is another Lego fan ,if only they weren't so expensive my room would be full of them.

  2. Me and my family live Lego’s and can’t wait for more to come out. We have a shelf dedicated just for legos, but we keep running out of room. I can’t wait to get back home from my trip to start designing another shelf to put legos on.

  3. I used to love Legos. I used to have a whole collection of them. I recently noticed that kids and even adults now have started to play with them again, I don't know if it is a nostalgic reason or what. You've opened my mind to possibly buying Legos again.

  4. I grew up building legos all the time, even to this day me and my girl will put money together just to go buy a huge set and spend the day building it. I also find it extremely soothing and even therapeutic.

  5. I love legos so much, the memories of when I was a kid building them always brings such an amazing feeling. Of course I still love them, but now I like to build and display them, instead of getting bored of the complete build after a week and tearing it apart, and building a completely new thing. I love how legos allow people to have complete creative control, and how they can be reused to build whatever a person wants to.
